We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in construction, woodworking, and building projects. You'll work on residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail in all carpentry work.

Minimum of 5-7 years of shipboard carpentry experience Prefer Local BUT Advise if
Candidate is Non-Local
All safety requirements including firewatch
Prefer dbids eligible Must be vaccinated
Must have tools
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proficiency in use of all types of hand and power tools and machines
· Ability to identify various types of wood
· Replace and repair wood, sheet metal, and fiberglass associated material on vessels
· Ability to read blueprints, lay out design, and construct structures
· Constructs, fits, repairs and installs structures, fixtures, flooring and cabinets in the
boat per drawings, sketches and verbal instructions
· Build, layout and/or install stairs, partitions, framing using marine adhesives,
biscuit joinery, nails, staples and screws
· Fit and install pre-fabricated items including window frames, door jambs, doors and
other trim and hardware pieces
· Install insulation in ceilings, walls and other compartments
· Bulkhead and hull repair
· Be able to adapt in an environment with extreme temperature exposure
· Install fiberglass components in the boat
· Measure, cut, grind, fit, and install components per specifications
· Install windows and finished exterior hardware
· Use bridge crane, chain hoist and other overhead lifting devices
· Apply basic math, reading and communication skills
· Understand and act upon instruction
· Work independently to complete responsibilities
· Must have regular, reliable attendance
· Will be required to wear personal protective equipment- hard hat, safety glasses,
steel toe boots/shoes and, when necessary, respirator
· Board ships via stairs, ladders, and gangways with tool bags and needed equipment
· Control cost in assigned area of responsibility
· Other duties may he assigned as workload dictates
