Overview:
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Job Matching Coordinator to support Germanna Community College graduates as they transition into meaningful careers. This role is pivotal in connecting graduates with entry-level, training-related employment opportunities with local businesses, providing personalized job matching services, career planning support, and acting as a liaison between students and employers to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Germanna Community College staff to identify and refer students nearing graduation for job matching services.

  • Conduct one-on-one career assessments and develop individualized employment plans for each student.

  • Match graduates with appropriate entry-level job opportunities aligned with their field of study and career goals.

  • Provide career readiness services including resume development, mock interviews, and job application support.

  • Facilitate direct introductions and recommendations to local employers.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses to source employment opportunities.

  • Monitor student employment progress and provide follow-up support as needed to ensure retention.

  • Track and report employment outcomes, including placement rates, wages, and job retention metrics.

  • Support students from diverse backgrounds, including English Learners and students with barriers to employment.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Associate’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Business, or a related field.

  • 2 years of experience in workforce development, career counseling, youth services, or related fields.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, including the ability to maintain accurate case notes and files.

  • Knowledge of career development principles, training resources, and workforce trends.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software systems.

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and meet “Contact with Students” compliance.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Farsi, Dari, Pashto).

  • Experience working with community college students and business associations.

  • Familiarity with local business and community resources.

  • Experience developing internship and work-based learning opportunities.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.

  • Occasionally move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.

  • Operate standard office equipment.

  • Travel locally to community sites, educational institutions, and employer locations.

  • Effective communication skills for verbal and written exchanges.

Work Environment:

  • Based out of the Goodwill Fredericksburg location, with occasional visits to Germanna campuses.

  • Primarily office-based with work at community locations.

  • Frequent travel between locations, including exposure to varying weather conditions.

  • Flexible scheduling may be required, including occasional evenings and weekends.

  • Interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
