Medical Administrative and Billing Assistant Location Walnut Creek, CA :

Celebrating our 28th year, Diablo Chiropractic is a dedicated and service-oriented practice providing chiropractic care, massage therapy, cupping, craniosacral therapy, low level laser therapy, and nutritional guidance for adults and children of all ages. We need a reliable, professional, mature, and friendly individual who desires a fulfilling and meaningful career in the natural healthcare field and chooses to live a healthy holistic lifestyle.

This is NOT an entry level position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

· 1+ years' work experience in a professional healthcare/medical office environment. Previous chiropractic experience a plus

· 1+ years' medical billing and coding experience and/or knowledge: ICD-10, HCPCS, etc.

· Strong customer service skills

Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):

· Overseeing and managing the daily activities of the practice

· Answering phones

· Scheduling/rescheduling patients

· Collecting fees

· Email communication

· Insurance verification, billing, and collections

· Working directly with the doctor on projects

This position requires ALL the following essentials:

· Exceptional telephone and verbal skills, always maintaining a positive helpful attitude and tone

· Excellent written communication skills

· Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Ability to identify, evaluate, and implement office protocols and procedures to improve efficiency of workflow, build "team" environment, and ensure patient satisfaction

· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

· Flexibility, ability to prioritize, multitask and follow through to completion in a fast-paced environment

· Self-motivation and impeccable attention to detail

· Capability of taking direction from your manager and effectively interacting and communicating with fellow employees and business associates

· Ability to handle confidential information

· Primary desire to help others and the ability to interact professionally with populations of all ages

Hours:

· 32 hours per week; flexibility for extended hours, when necessary, based on patient needs. Additional hours for special projects, as needed.

· Mondays and Wednesdays: 10:30 am -- 7:00 pm (30-minute lunch)

· Thursdays and Fridays: 9:30 am -- 6:00 pm (30-minute lunch)

· Two 10-minute rest breaks per day

Compensation:

· Hourly rate starting at $20-22/hr., DOE

Benefits:

· 6 paid federal holidays; begins after first 90 days of continuous employment

· 40 hours (five days) paid sick leave per calendar year; begins after first 90 days of continuous employment
