Duration :12 months

Visa : Need only native US citizen

Rate :$50/hr c2c MAX

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday Through Friday (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) Eastern Time (40hr)

Job description:

We are in need of a COBOL Developer to analyze business requirements and design applications, modify applications to improve existing business processes, execute cleanups based on production data analysis, monitor various assigned system processes, ensure complete and accurate issue tracking and reporting, escalate production timelines to meet client requests, and identify production issues affecting code modules.

Scope of Work:

The developers shall provide application design and development consulting services to NYCERS in support of the ongoing business process improvement program.

Role: Develop applications in a mainframe environment with integration to distributed environments, addressing and resolving complex and conflicting design issues.

Objective: Analyze and improve existing business processes, implementing application automation where feasible.

Deliverables:

• The developers will be responsible for:
• Analyzing business requirements and designing applications.
• Modifying applications to enhance existing business processes.
• Executing cleanups based on production data analysis.
• Monitoring various assigned system processes.
• Ensuring complete and accurate issue tracking and reporting.
• Escalating production timelines to meet client requests.
• Identifying production issues impacting code modules.

Mandatory Skills/Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of recent experience developing applications using COBOL for CICS and batch programs.
• Superior proficiency with mainframe applications built with JCL, COBOL and CICS.
• Experience working with VSAM files and DB2, integrating existing designs with new requirements.
• Strong experience developing in Mainframe environment resolving complex and conflicting design issues.
• Ability to quickly understand complex mainframe systems.
• Exceptional presentation and organizational skills.
• High written and oral communication skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Experience developing applications in IBM VSE mainframe environment.
• Experience working with stored procedures and SQL in MS SQL 2005 or above.
• Quick job utility language experience.
