Job Description

Description We're seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator-ideally someone with prevailing wage and certified payroll background-to manage full-cycle payroll processing, compliance, and reporting. You'll play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll across multi-state, union, or public works projects. Key Responsibilities + Full-cycle payroll processing: Input and process employee time, complete payroll runs (weekly/biweekly), validate, reconcile, and audit payroll entries using ADP, Paylocity, or similar systems. + Prevailing wage & certified payroll: Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports. + Compliance & audits: Conduct payroll audits, resolve discrepancies, and support labor compliance reviews and potential external investigations. + Reporting & record-keeping: Maintain detailed payroll records, fringe benefit calculations, apprenticeship tracking, and ensure retention for audit purposes. + Cross-functional coordination: Partner with HR, finance, project managers, and subcontractors to collect timecards, validate job classifications, and ensure compliance. Requirements + 2+ years payroll coordination experience-preferably in construction, union, public works, or multi-state environments. + Hands-on experience with prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting per federal or CA state standards. + Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, Paylocity, LCP Tracker, QuickBooks, or similar. + Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proven ability in audit/reconciliation processes. + Solid communication skills to liaise with internal/external stakeholders and clarify compliance standards.
